Making your very own styled up hummus is so quick and easy and very impressive!


  • 2 large red onions sliced
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tin of chickpeas
  • 1 spoon of cream cheese (use light cream cheese if prefer)
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 heaped tsp tahini paste
  • Pinch of salt
  • Juice of 1 lemon


  1. Preheat oven to gas 5 / 190c
  2. Start by roasting the red onions
  3. Put the sliced onions on to a large baking tray, sprinkle with balsamic vinegar, olive oil and salt and pepper
  4. Put into a hot oven for 30 minutes giving a turn a couple of times
  5. Take out leave to cool
  6. Once they are cooled put ΒΎ of the onions into a blender with the rest of the ingredients
  7. Blend until nice and smooth
  8. To serve, drizzle a little olive oil on top and a the leftover caramelised red onions


Note: If you are dairy free then you can just leave out the cream cheese and it is still delicious
